Ogni anno al draft ci sono talenti provenienti da piccoli programmi che vengono sottovalutati e che possono essere presi facilmente nei giri più bassi, rivelandosi magari giocatori in grado di competere nella NFL. Anche nel draft 2011 troviamo giocatori che hanno potenzialità per essere buoni a livello pro, pur proveniendo da programmi minori. Il primo nome da segnlare è quello di
Kenrick Ellis, DT Hampton: a 6-4½, per 336-pounds, Ellis ha stazza ma anche rapidità con i piedi, forza e tecnica per spingere via i blockers avversari. Qualche problem outside the camp, which led him to end up at Hampton after starting his career in college in South Carolina, Ellis also has potential to end the 3rd round.
Cecil Shorts III, WR, Mount Union , is very fast, a good slot receiver, at least 5 laps.
Vincent Brown, WR San Diego State , is another talented wide receiver with good hands and that he had a productive career finishing the season as a senior with 61 receptions for 1.187 yards and nine touchdowns. The offensive lineman at Villanova, Ben
Ijalana , a day is considered the best prospects out by a small program for the 2011 draft. Ijalana, 6-4, 320-pound, is considered the product to UMass smilie, the OL Vlaidimir Ducasse, a starter with the Jets after being selected
the 2nd round of the 2010 draft.
Josh Mosure, RB, a 5-10, 210-pounds has averaged 40 yards over 4:53. It comes from a smaller program, although small, like Colorado State and is able to return punts and kick offs.
Julius Thomas, TE, 6-5, 251-pounds, produced by Portland State, a former basketball star, is not very fast as other tissues, but can block well.
